Lee DeWyze (born Leon James DeWyze Jr. on April 2, 1986) is an American singer-songwriter from Mount Prospect, Illinois. He is best known as the winner of the ninth season of American Idol in 2010. A folk-rock and indie artist influenced by Simon & Garfunkel, Cat Stevens, and Johnny Cash, he has released several independent albums, including Frames (2013), Oil & Water (2016), and his latest, Gone For Days.
